France and China consolidate nuclear energy relationship
France and China’s nuclear industries are to collaborate more closely under the terms of a set of new agreements. Companies from the two countries will share expertise and engineering support following a three-day visit to the Asian nation by French prime minister Manuel Valls in January.
Dungeness B to run for extra decade
The UK’s Dungeness B nuclear plant will continue to generate electricity until 2028. EDF Energy, which has recently invested £150 million investment in the two-unit advanced gas-cooled reactor (AGR), announced a ten-year extension to its lifespan as part of a wider strategy to keep its eight-strong British fleet running at least until 2023.
Dome installed at unit 2 of Novovoronezh II
Russian state-owned company Atomenergoproekt has announced the installation of the reactor containment building dome at unit 2 of the Novovoronezh II nuclear power plant.
