Camfil Farr Power Systems

Camfil Farr Power Systems - Clean air solutions for turbomachinery
Camfil Farr Power Systems is one of the world's leading actors in developing, manufacturing and supplying clean air and noise reducing systems for turbomachinery. We have more than 40 years of experience in the business, and thousands of our installations are being used worldwide, 24-7, all year round.

Our customers
The customers we work with are mainly found in the Power Generating industry and the Oil & Gas sector. Our activities are both ISO-9001 and 14000 controlled, and we have well implemented project processes. Each project is managed by a project team in close collaboration with the customer, securing requirements being met all the way.

We are proud and honoured suppliers to some of the world's biggest companies. Names like Siemens, Solar, GE, Dresser Rand and Rolls-Royce are to be found on our reference list for systems.

The market for end users, with filter upgrades and retrofits is also vital for us. Being part of the Camfil Farr group makes us available for companies all over the world, and representatives at every Camfil office, access to a complete range of state-of-the-art filters, and high product knowledge, always give you the best solution.

Protecting machinery
Turbomachinery needs the right conditions to perform optimally. To get a safe and cost-effective operation, reliability and efficiency is of outmost importance. Reliability assurance means that the inlet filtration system must be able to protect the turbine from penetration of particles that could damage the turbine. Efficiency assurance means that the inlet system must remove the entrance of small particles to avoid fouling, resulting in degradation of the turbine performance. In other words, a well designed system with the right filter choice, leads to lower operating costs, optimum efficiency and less environmental impact.

Our mission is to protect machinery in every conceivable environment - desert, offshore, rural or industrial. You can choose from a static, offshore or pulse filter system. Static filter systems are for cleaning combustion and ventilation air in rural, urban and industrial areas. Offshore filter systems are designed to clean process and ventilation air on stationary and platform installations or FPSOs. The third of our systems, the pulse filter system, is made to protect rotating machinery operating in high dust load environments. Off course, there is also room for combining different systems if necessary.

Our scope of supply
Our scope of supply comprises:

  • Intake systems; ducts, silencers and filter houses
  • Sound enclosures including ventilation air and exhaust installations
  • Exhaust systems; with diffusers, diverter dampers, bypass stacks and exhaust gas silencers
  • Dampers and slides
  • Service and repair
  • Air filters and replacement parts.
With our complete offering, we can provide you with the right solution, whether it is a new installation, a retrofit or a filter change.

Our filters
The Camfil Farr group specializes in the field of air filtration solutions. We have a high focus on R&D and state-of-the-art manufacturing of air filtration products and ser¬vices on a global basis. Our product range meets all your demands; from HVAC problems to highly specialized filtration techniques for applications that are extremely sensitive to air pollution.

The heart of our air inlet systems are the filter elements. The privilege of having worked closely with our customers for many years has helped us understand the specific needs of the demanding market for turbomachinery. We understand filtration, and we want to help you with the optimum solution. No matter which system you choose, we help you achieve the best possible economy and operation through our filters. With our life cycle cost program (the LCC programme), we study key factors affecting the end result. After detailed calculations, we de¬sign a fully customised system with minimum run¬ning costs and maximum lifespan.

Our range of filter products for gas turbines includes panel, bag, compact, and pulse cleaning filters in different efficiencies; from G4 to E12.

Pre-filter Cam-Flo XMGT
Our new bag filter Cam-Flo XMGT is the first and only synthetic media filter on the market that keeps its efficiency over its entire lifetime according to the new standard EN779:2011. The efficiency of this filter is not dependent on electrostatic charges; it is the construction of the media and the design of the filter pockets that keeps the efficiency on a high level.

The design of the Cam-Flo XMGT makes the air more evenly distributed over the filter area, using the entire filter surface to a maximum. The design is also made to optimize the airflow between the filter bags and the total filter surface used, thus minimizing operational pressure drop.

Compact high efficency filter CamGT
Our trendsetter, the CamGT, has now been released in an upgraded version, with a number of innovative features. The CamGT´s large filter surface features vertical pleats, hot melt separators and polyurethane seals. The open hot melt separators allow water to drain, making the CamGT an excellent choice for wet conditions.

The media packs are reinforced with a strong backing screen and enclosed in a robust plastic frame protecting it from pressure fluctuations. The backing screen and the moulded gasket permanently fixed to the frame simplify the filter installation and limit the risk for media damage and leakage.

The CamGT range includes an E10 as well as an E12 version, offering considerable improvements in engine protection, when stepping up to EPA filtration classification also for turbomachinery.

CamPulse Hemipleat
Our CamPulse HemiPleat™ filter, with state-of-the-art pleating technology, delivers valuable benefits to gas turbine operation and maintenance. Synthetic beads hold the pleats of the cartridge open with wide pleat spacing. The wider spacing of the HemiPleat design exposes more media to the air stream, resulting in lower pressure drop as well as improved dust release characteristics during pulse cleaning.

The pleating technology is available in vertical single cartridges or as double cylindrical type cartridges in horizontal down flow filter systems both for upgrades and original supply. As an upgrade the cylindrical/cylindrical cartridge replaces the old conical/cylindrical type.

The PolyTech media is an advanced pulse-cleaned media, and available in two different grades:
  • PolyTech HE ultra high efficiency proprietary blended media with a micro fiber synthetic melt blown surface laminate and moisture resistant silicone treatment for optimum filtration efficiency and dust release characteristics.
  • PolyTech standard proprietary blended cellulosic and polyester fibers with a moisture resistant silicone treatment for long service life at high filtration efficiencies.
